We financed the furnishing of 6 classrooms, 1 office and 1 library for the school in Ankoronga. It is the only school for all the villages of the neighbouring stone breakers. For several generations, the inhabitants of the villages located between 5 km and 10 km from Ankoronga, in the south of Madagascar, have had as their only resource the work of stone, one of the hardest jobs that can exist.
More than 100 children were enrolled in the initiation classes. Each class has 40/50 pupils. The other classes will be used for the “parents’ school” for adult literacy and for learning about animal husbandry and agriculture, with the creation of a botanical garden and a vegetable garden.
Total amount of the project €3.500
