Completion and equipping of the canteen and construction of the kitchen at the “Paul Luke Stephano” primary school for children from the villages in the stone-cutting area. Built of fresh water well and a water tower co-funded with the European School Brussels II.
It is the only school for all the villages of the neighbouring stone breakers. For several generations, the inhabitants of the villages located between 5 km and 10 km from Ankoronga, in the south of Madagascar, have had as their only resource the work of stone, one of the hardest jobs that can exist.
As from September 2023, the school has a canteen service for the approximately 300 pupils attending it, who are able to eat a meal prepared on site in the best possible hygienic and clean conditions and sheltered from the weather. The children are also able to drink fresh water during lessons and lunch.
Total amount of the project €35.200
